CONSTITUTION OF DUNOON YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

 

1. NAME

The name of the body is "Dunoon Youth Football League", hereinafter referred to as "The League".


2. AIMS AND OBJECTS


The objects of the League shall be to

a. Provide and promote the opportunity for children to participate in competitive games of football, to further their knowledge and skills in the same, to develop a code of good discipline and sportsmanship, both on and off the field of play, and other purposes ancillary thereto.

b. to assist, where practicable, other local charitable, voluntary and youth organisations in the provision of sporting and other activities for local youth.


1. MEMBERSHIP


Senior Membership

The Senior Membership of the League shall consist of,

i. The parents or guardians of all Junior Members from time to time

ii. Such other persons as are interested in the aims and objects of the League, subject to approval of the Management Committee, and payment of the Annual Subscription after mentioned.


Junior Membership

Membership of the League is open to all children from those of school age and attending school to 18 years of age who, on payment of the Annual Subscription after mentioned, shall be registered in August of each year in the following sections of the League or such sections as shall be determined from time to time by the Management Committee:

i.   Nursery Membership of the League shall be open to all children due to attend school in Primaries 1 ,2, or 3 during the month of registration.

ii. Outdoor Membership of the League shall be open to all children from the date they cease to be eligible for Nursery membership up to the age of not more than 18 years as at the first day of January preceeding the date of registration, divided into those who participate in:

a) competitive matches for less than 11 a side, and/or,

b) competitive matches for 11 a side.

iii.Girls Membership- open to all girls enrolled to attend school in Primary 1 during the month of registration up to the age of not more than 18 years as at the first day of January preceding the date of registration who participate in any competitive matches.

Registration may be otherwise at the discretion of the Management Committee.


4. REGISTRATION


The Management Committee shall maintain a Register of all children who are members of the League. All children must be registered and their annual subscription paid before participating in any competitive game.


5. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE


a. The affairs of the League shall be under the control of the "Dunoon Youth Football League Management Committee" who shall report to each Annual General Meeting and shall have power to:

i. Organise and administer generally competitive matches and the other affairs of the League,

ii. Hire or lease premises as may be required,

iii. Provide equipment as required,

iv. Receive money and make payment on behalf of the League,

v. Engage and pay for services,

vi. Control the admission of children and their registration,

vii. appoint a Senior Member as a Manager for each competitive team within the League and appoint a replacement Manager when, at their sole discretion, they consider it appropriate to do so.

viii.issue guidelines to each manager for the safe and appropriate management of such teams

ix. do all such things as will properly attain the aims and objects of the League.


b. The Committee shall consist of
i
. Not less than seven elected Senior Members comprising the Office Bearers (who shall be Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer, ) together with a Senior Member representing each of:

the Nursery section

the 7 a side division of the outdoor section

the 11 a side division of the outdoor section and,

the Girls section.

all elected as aftermentioned.
ii
. Additional Senior Members co-opted by the committee but not exceeding 2 at any one time. Co-opted Members shall have a vote and shall retire at the next Annual General Meeting.

c. The Committee shall be elected for a 2-year period, and all elected Members shall retire at the approprate Annual General Meeting, but shall be eligible for re-election. For those purposes a year shall be the period elapsing between successive Annual General Meetings.
